cylinder head bolt question

for the lower cylinder head bolts that sit in the water passages what should I put on the threads?

Put ARP thread sealer or RTV silicone

ive always heard never put RTV on the cylinder head bolts. but then again, i used teflon tape before and had zero problems.

I wouldn't put silicone on the head bolts...

Use ARP thread sealer fairly aggresively on the bottom bolt threads...that is what I did with the ARP and have no leaks...

I used permatex thread sealant on mine. Got it from Autozone and works great. Comes in a little tube and looks just like arp stuff.

ARP makes a combination thread sealer and moly lubricant for reducing friction on the threads during torquing. It's great stuff -- highly recommended. I use it on just about all threads because of it's lubricating properties.
