I have a brand new 04 GT and i looking to add some mods to the car. When looking on the internet i found several good websites, but since i live in Dallas I can just go down to Dallas Mustang....but, all i have heard are horror stories about these guys. From the wrong part being sold, scratches and dings happing while in for work, to a terrible customer service experience.

I decided to give them a call anyway and an older sounding man anwsered the phone, i asked about several different parts and prices, when i got to about the 4th question he said "holy $het you have alot of questions, and i dont have time for this kinda crap, you need to just come down here and buy something instead of waisting my time on the phone.'" i was like WTF...... Should i even bother, with their business.... ?

Anyone in Dallas have any comments?

Well anyone who said something like that to me would never see my face in their establishment. If he was busy he should have used more tact than to say he didn't have time for this crap. If you don't have time for my crap then i don't have any money to spend at your shop.

While you may have caught the guy at a bad time, it does not excuse that kind of thing. If I was you, I wouldn't take my car there for work.

I would email them your experience and then forget they ever existed. They are not the only Mustang shop around.

I have purchased a light bar & short throw shifter from DM. IMHO if they have the parts in stock, they are okay. Just don't order any Mac products from them. I waited 7 weeks to get prochamber from them and they still did not have it in...Ended up getting one in 3 days from Racing Superstore in Arlington.

I just bought a speedcal from them, but only because they make it and have a good online tutorial. If I were treated like that, I'd never buy from them unless I had to.

If he doesn't have the time to spend with each customer, then he needs to hire someone that can.

Of course, I've gotten the same feeling from several companies while asking questions that they just don't want to be on the phone with you unless you are spending money and simply giving orders. It seems that so many of these companies are small to medium sized businesses and are so used to folks calling knowing what they want and when they have to answer a few questions, they get a little short.

They should call someone like SummitRacing that will take as much time as needed with the best attitude to make sure you are getting what you need and are satisfied when you get off the phone.

Jim Bell with Kennebell did that to me once on the phone and I've never gone back to them.

"Run, run away Scar and never come back! " quote from The Lion King.

I agree with coramprat... if they talked crap like that to you over the phone, no way.. that should be a BIG heads up to the rumors/horror stories you've heard from other people.. try someone else man..

Honestly I have purchased quite a bit from DMP. You just have to know going in that they are a bunch of arses...plain and simple. The only reason I go there is because it's close to home or maybe if it's something I absolutely have to have RIGHT NOW . If I know what I need and can wait a day for it to show at my door, I usually will order from Steve at Houston Performance...good guy who will answer your questions and give you better pricing than DMP on top of it. Also you may want to give Lonestar Performance a call. I gave them a shot once, and while they may not have the inventory of DMP for the most part they are the complete opposite when it comes to customer service...good.

I've had similar experiences with Dallas Mustang in the past as well.
Needless to say, they never saw a dime of my $$.

Yeah I ordered a Speed cal from them and they guy I talked to did not seem like he wanted to sell anything. He kind of rushed me off the phone. Didn't really seem that informative either. I thought it was just me

Dang right! I am SHOCKED that idiot said that to you! It only fits along 100% with the crap I've heard about those guys. My advice would be to never call them back again, lol. Forget they even exist.

They are overpriced, they take too long, and they don't know their stuff like they should. My car was in their shop for over 10 weeks to replace the heads, and I called everyday, to hear it should be ready by tomorrow. They installed a tubular k-member, that rubs the headers I had put on. Anyway, an overall bad experience. I'm going to try the mustang shop, I have hear nothing but good about these guys. Actually it's 1 guy that does most of the work.
