damn vacuum tube

the vacuum tube from my intake to the fpr keeps coming off. i think it is just worn out oe something. the hole on the intake side is noticeably larger than the one on the fpr side. if i am unable to get the new tube back on, will i have to take the intake off?

fwiw, i have a trick flow "street heat" intake.

if the two nipples are close in size, a nice new piece of rubber vac line should be able to fit the small one, yet stretch to fit the larger fitting. Your old hose is probably vulcanized.

the thing is the nipple is way up under the intake and is a real pain to get on. with the loose one, it slips right on, but the tighter one is alot harder to get on, mostly due to how awkward it is getting to it...

spray some wd-40 on the inside of the hose on the tip and it will slide right on like a glove.

You can also get the appropriate size hose for both nipples and connect them into a plastic T that has 2 off-set sizes on it.

Chris, gotcha. I was thinking stock set up (where the hose is like 6" long and is cake to play with).

Why wouldn't it be the stock setup though. I have the track heat intake with the SN95 adapter, and the old vacuum tree from my stock intake had to be removed and installed in the adapter. So I don't see why anything would be different????

Worst case scenario, you get a clamp of some sort and put it on the end that keeps coming off. If you are still using your stock FPR vacuum line, you need to change it anyway.

Wait a minute. I didn't think there were any vacuum lines running from the FPR to the underside of the intake. On mine, there's a real skinny one that runs to a nipple that is on the elbow, but not underneath.

FWIW though, I dropped my upper intake on the other night forgetting to hook up all the vacuum lines. I was able to get all of them on with the upper intake in place.

wd40! it was a pain, but i was able to get it on. patience and persistance paid off.

On a TFS street heat, there is one. I'll see if I can get a pic of it if you are interested.

Cool, glad you got it to work. Put a wire tie on the end that's connected to the FPR.
