Panhandle performance is shipping me a pair of assembled dart heads they are the 195's and are aluminium. Has anyone run these I kinda got talked into them becuause the guy at panhandle told me they flow 285cfm intake and are 64 cc chambers which on my stroker will give me 10:9:1 ratio I paid 1300 is that alot let me know..

Dart makes a good product. It is just if they are matched to the rest of your combo. I have a pair of steel windsor sr's on my 351 and they work great for my combo.

Are the pro 1 heads equal to the dart sr's or are they a newer design Im asking because i can't find much information on these heads. I hope to make the 11's or low twelves im going to be runnin a 11:1 347 stroker with dart aluminium z303 cam gt40 intake phenolic spacer 65tb t5z no smog junk, no ac, no mechanical fan, and 4.10's, and draglites with drag radials. By the way what rims ad tires did you run on that 11.61 pass damn the 11's are fast last time i went to the trak was 5 years ago in a heavy aod man that car stunk I left after an embarassing 14.9 A toyota supra crushed that car. And does anyone know If I will need a roll bar if I get into the 11's or 12's to run .

You're spending a bunch on some good parts - but your combo seems mismatched for what you say you want to accomplish - at least to me. I'd get one of the custom cam makers to design a cam for you - you've got a lot of head and motor/compression/cubes there. The Z cam seems like just a guess on someone's part - and it was configured to work with 302 cubes, not 347 - your increased displacement makes a difference. Also, the GT40 intake is likely to limit your intake flow. You've got heads that will flow 285, but that manifold barely tops 200. You're gonna need a much more serious intake set up to take advantage of those heads. Not that you asked.

That is Mickey ET drag 28x9 on 15x8 inch weld wheels. You can fit a 28x10.5 under the stang, but it takes some hammer work to get it in there. ET streets and ET drags are different in the sizes. A 10.5 et street it smaller than a 10.5 et drag!

NHRA rules are very simple when it comes to rollbars. At 11.99 and quicker you need a roll bar. There is also a mph point where you would need a roll bar, but that is not as common place. You usually dont run 12.3 at 135mph or what ever the mph-roll bar-limit is.

So that means that you can run 12.0 all day long with a helmet and stock seatbelts and be legal.

It would be worth the $5 to get a rule book. It is in plain english and fairly easy to understand.

Let me warn you that bolt in bars are not NHRA legal. It has to be a certain thickness and quality of material and welded. A swing out door bar can be used under certain conditions.

I look at the rules this way. They are there for my safety, so I make an effort to adhear to them.

I am going to talk with my builder to find out what the cost is for a custom cam . I may get an victor or performer rpm intake that has been ported to match the heads. I heard ported holley are preety good but as is now im working overtime out the rear to pay for this work. Also I was on a website and thesrp flat top 347 pistons part 140689 with a 64cc head makes 10:4:1 compression. If i can enlarge the chambers of the head is 10:4:1 a low enough compression ratio for a blower ?

No, not on pump gas. You are about at the limit for a N/A motor on pump gas. To add a blower to it would make it worse. Plan on $6+ a gallon for race fuel unless you keep that thing N/A.

Sounds like you need to take a step back and get a plan. It costs to much money to buy parts on a whim. Remember that bigger and more is not always better. There is a point where heads and cams are too big. Make the car a beast to drive and you'll end up hating it.

I'm with hllon4 - slow down and figure out what you really want before proceeding. Unless you don't care what you end up with - in which case forge ahead. When you don't know or care where you're going, any road will take you there! If you're gonna add boost and want to run pump gas, you need to be in the 8.5-9.2:1 range. Many fine blown combinations out there running stock sized combustion chambers and stock forged pistons. If you're going naturally aspirated with the aluminum heads you can be up around 10.5:1 and manage just fine.
