Dash cluster Question?

I have an 87 GT with an 85 or is it 100 mph speedo well the plastic in front of the cluster in in Bad shape plus were the gauges are the lighting is coming thru the black background so can i replace the whole cluster...with a newer 140 mph cluster how hard is it to do?....Can it be done?....

Yes it can be done, but you'll have to have the speedometer re-calibrated for accuracy.

The stock cluster is 85MPH

The clusters are broken up in two year ranges. 87-89 and 90-93. They will not directly interchange without rewiring the entire cluster harness. It can be done, there are wiring diagrams.

Only late 1989's came with a 140MPH speedo, so they are rare and pricey.

A 140MPH speedo can be swapped into an 87-89 housing with some modification. This is the route I went.

You could also send out your stock speedo for recal and install an aftermarket gauge face

As for the burned ou lights, there are bulbs behind the cluster you can replace and you can buy a brand new plastic lens that fits over the gauges. It comes apart pretty easy

My 93 GT has the 140 speedo i like that...LOL...as for the lights none are out the overlay is thin or something the green is coming thru...I'll see if i can get a picture up of it to show you what it looks like all the lights do work tho so can i just replace that overlay then....
