dash/guage cluster (140mph)

will the gauge cluster w/ the 140mph speedo out of a 90-93 fit correctly in an 87? I know the later years had an airbag and my 87 does not. Anyway, I wanted to makre sure it fit/worked before I dropped the looy for one.

no it will not work, there was a post where some one was made it work. he was having problems

The wiring is all different so you have to rewire the two plugs that go into the cluster. I searched for "140 speedo" and found several old threads:

There is a wiring diagram comparison floating around. I have a copy of it, but I'll have to find it on my other PC. LMK if you want it.

You can just swap over the speedo, but they again are different and would need mods to fit. That is the route I went, but now my old gauges don't exactly match the newer speedo.

i appreciate the info. i passed on the one i was watching on ebay. i may just wait until i get the money for an 1989-140mph speedo. I kinda need to get a new speedo gear anyway before i do anything else. got 4.10 gears and the speedo gear was never changed. it shows me doing a million mph in a quarter. lol
