Ok weird ass problem just started happening with my car. When i turn the headlights on the cluster lighting goes off and the tach drops to zero...also the volts go to zero and the temp guage peggs. The other weird thing is when i turn the wipers on the same thing happens and the wipers don't move. I am thinking the causes of these problems are related since they all apeared today on my way to work...always at the best time! Any help would be great, i'm lost.

Sorry I don't have a definitive answer for you, except check the fuses. Sounds like a short, but there is no easy answer there.

There are very few people on Stangnet with good electrical skills.
There are even fewer that will tackle a problem that they cannot
touch and see. Electrical troubleshooting can be difficult and that is
compounded by the number of hands that have made "Modifications" to the factory system.

You have a defective or missing ground. You will have to inspect
and chase all the ground paths in the instrument panel. Sorry, there
are no canned answers.

See the following website for some help from Tmoss (diagram
designer) & Stang&2Birds (website host) for help on 88-95 wiring

just had that happen to me today when i hit my headlights on ... we put a 140 speedo cluster in my 87 out of an 89 mustang today and we coudln't figure out what it was , so we pulled the cluster out and it turns out the harness that plugs into the side where the tach is wasn't in tight ... snapped it in tight and problem was fixed
