Dead Battery, Need Help Finding Problem
Just finished doing the one wire conversion, I must have screwed up when I was getting rid of the old alt. wire harness because my car has been sitting since thurs. afternoon, go out a few minutes ago and my battery is completely drained.
Everything I just installed:
100 amp Powermaster
Optima Yellow top
0/1 ga. power and ground wires between alt. and batt. and battery to engine
Stinger Battery terminals
I took some pics of the setup hoping that maybe you guys could find something blatantly wrong, but there is just one thing that has got me worried. When I was removing the old alt. harness there is one wire that is yellow, I dont know where it came from, but it is routed under teh radiator where it is spliced into a black/green wire that went to the regulator. When I was test running all my wires I had the yellow one hooked up to another yellow wire and everything was working fine, ran the wires, cleaned everything up, go to start the car and nothing. After a bit with a test light I find out that this yellow wire was neither getting power, nor was it grounded. So I hard wire it to the starter solenoid and everything works fine again
Off I go on my merry way untill today...
I replaced the dead yellow top w/my old die hard and started the car, then using jumper cables I hooked the yellow top up in parrallel to let it get a bit of a charge for about 10 minutes, then I killed the engine and disconnected the neg. battery terminal. Pics should come up below
The dig. display isn't hooked up in case you were wondering. I don't want the display, but couldn't find any other terminals w/dual 0/1 hookup
The + connection on the back of the alt.
A bad pic of where the regulator used to be
A better pic of where the regulator used to be
