Well - after driving the hell out of it with no problems for 14 months the stang is dead. In the parking lot. Outside of the office. Right when I needed to get lunch. The engine was cranking/turning over but no ignition. So - it is being towed to a shop. Dead fuel pump? Bad injectors/COP's? Anyone wanna start placing bets?

BTW - it had done this a few times in the 3 days, but it always started up after several tried. Also - i did get it to start up this afternoon, but it wouldn't accelerate past about 1500 RPM. I put in a new battery last night ( thinking it didn't have the starting voltage/amp). Fresh oil change last night with Mobil 1.

i would change the fuel filter... its easy, cheap and will cause what you discribed, then i would check fuel pressure then for spark

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem.

If your fuel filter wasn't changed in the last 20k miles, it's most likely dirty.

Well I guess I've been buying gas full of sediments then, because brown liquid came out of the filter when I changed mine after 15k. Car ran fine, but the filter was still filthy.

Fuel filter? I doubt it. It will cause WOT problems LONG before you have fuel delivery problems at idle or start-up.

Fuel pump, maybe. Can you hear the pump turn on when you turn the key to 'run'?

Replaced Fuel Filter last night(motorcraft) and Oil Filter (K&N). Just got a call from the repair shop, it was the fuel pump as I suspected. $500 bucks out the door including the tow and a focus fuel pump.

On a good note(good for me because it sucks for them) they had to pull my nitrous tank and move some of the cableing around in order to get enough working room to put the new pump in. So that makes me feel a bit better.

haha yea stick it to em. Heck for the amount of money your making them they should do a little extra work. The dude at my work that does fuel pumps usually can do it in like an hour and a half. With a lift of course. Not much work for 500 bucks if ya ask me.
