With the economy the way it is, and with dealer incentives piling up..has anyone given any thought to trading in their mustangs for new mustangs like the GT500 or the Roush mustang....if you've been on a dealer's lot in California anytime recently you've probably seen roushes going for less than 30k! any thoughts??

The major difference is that my Mustang is MY Mustang, customized the way I want. If Mustang to you is just a cool car then go for it but, for most Mustang enthusiasts our own personal car is and expression of ourselves. My $0.02

Hey, my Roush is 'My Mustang' too! I've added several personal touches over and above what Jacks crew did to the base GT. You can still customize a Roush or a GT500 to your personal taste. It's just a different starting canvas. But if you just want to buy a really nice Mustang to drive and not customize further, you can't go wrong with any of them. And as things are out there, if you're in a position to buy something a little upscale from the factory stock V6 or GT, one of the Roush or Shelby varieties could be a pretty good deal whether you catch mod fever or not...

I am also interested in this. Although I will not be trading up(I am looking to buy 05+ S197 GT 5spd), the used prices are just getting ridiculous right now. I have no idea what these people are thinking, pricing these 05's at about the same price I can get a 08-09 for with incentives

Somehow I'd think you'd lose in the end because while you're getting a great deal on a specialty model they will probably low ball you to hell to turn a profit. I was contemplating going for a genuine Roush a while ago but seeing how i'm only one year away from paying my car off I'd say no thanks. Once the car note money is no longer there I'll have enough cash to make my own car into the starship Enterprise if I want to.

Incentives are good on GT Models

I just purchased a 2008 Roush 427R from Galpin 2 weeks ago.
They had the GT500's advertised for 39,999 but only had white ones left.
I found my Roush in their warehouse missing a center cap on the rim because someone stole it. Ended up 4000 under Roush MSRP and 1000 rebate from Ford and 0% interest for 5 yrs. After doing some research on different websites I found the production numbers for 2008 Roush Vehicles. Turns out that Roush only made 1 Vista Blue with Lt. Blue stripe and thats the one I bought!
I had a 2002 Mustang GT with Saleen IV S/C that was destroyed on Dec 26th while i was sitting in the left turn left by an 18yr old kid playing with his cell phone while driving a full size chevy truck. My car won 3rd place in the Modified 99-04 class Mustangs at the Queen Mary in October of 2008.
