so i picked my 06 up

i put a cold air a cat back etc just the bolt ons.

after abotu 900 miles the car starts to have a vibration on decell through the shifter in third.
i say oh wel i can live with it

now by 4000 miles its horribl you can visual SEE the shifter shake on decell and if you hold it you can clearly FEEL something metal in the trany clicking every time it comes around on the gear .. like a chipped tooth
and it randomly once a week pops out of third gear.

i take it to the dealer they tell me and im qouteing " thats normal vibration" im like wtf are you talking about thats not normal im a ase cetified tech i own a shop specializeing in fords i rebuild tranys all dam day and i know dam well tahts NOT normal.

the tech gets pissy and says its normal ford is not going to pay us to take that trany apart if you want to we will.
i call for the manager he goes for a ride in the car I show him the shifter shake i tell him it pops out of gear we go back and he talks to the tech comes back and say " my tech says its normal"

WTF
its NORMAL for a car to pop out of gear randomly and the shifter to shake on decell so badly you can see it visualy and for it to be getting worse mile by mile.

im so pissed at the moment with them..

Man thats weird, I have never heard of that happening before!!!! You should probably take it to another ford dealer and see what they say.....
Ive never had a problem with the service department, so its probly just the dealership, SH***Y SERVICE..

Well same thing happened to me. I brought my car in for noisy transmission tech told me it's Normal and the dealership wouldn't fix it. Called sucky ford customer service and they told me since a factory trained tech said it's normal then it's normal so live with it. I told them I was a paying customer and I say it's not normal they told me there's nothing they can or will do.

This will likely be my LAST ford. Their quality and service is crap and now I can see why their doing poorly as a company and their stock is under 10 bucks.

Note: This is my 4th Mustang GT and I've owned Ford's since 1990 and this '05 is by far the poorest quality Ford I've owned to date.

oh this is great to hear, i'm ordering mine today

I can't believe people are still buying the new mustangs. With as many people complaining about them on these forums you would think others would not buy them!!! I have driven over 400 2005 mustangs this past year and I'am not impressed with them. TOO much PLASTIC and mechanical problems.

Hey 1fastz

sorry to hear about your experience with that dealer. Try another dealership who actually cares about their customers. I'm sure someone will help ya out.

As for everyone else

Isn't this the same car that Car and Driver named one of their ten best that ya'll are complaining about.

Personally I haven't had any problems with my 05 in the year and some change that I've owned it. And as for quality.............you got to be kidding me if you think the previous years were built of a better quality.

Sound advice. I ditched my pos dealer and went elsewhere, and EVERY other dealer I've gone to has been VERY good. It's just the luck of the draw, I'm afraid.

As for build quality, you're one of the lucky ones, if you've gone a year with no manifestation of CD skipping or a dodgy gas tank.:nice:

Bottom line, I'm now less worried about the problems I find, since I've managed to find a few excellent dealerships down here in SoCal to fix them.

Wow, you complainers are really narrow minded. Any smart car person knows that a design change brings some problems with it.

This current gen Mustang is supporting Ford Motor Company for a reason, its the best one yet. I would guess that like 10% of Mustang owners are on Message forums and not even half of us are having troubles so how does that make the car all that bad.

Im sorry if you have a problem with your new gen car and you cant deal with it. You should have waited a year or two till they got the kinks worked out. If you cant deal with your issues with a car and people that work in your same industry, you obviously havent come too far yourself in the auto field.

Edit: And if you also go by TwinTurboSaleen elsewhere, I am right about you not getting along with others within the industry.

I love my 05 GT, no issues troubling me what-so-ever.

Actualy I get along fine with anyone for the most part

When a message board jockey rubs me the wrong way I have a tendancy to go off ESPECIALLY if they say im a liar and my car doesn't do or make what I said it does.

when someone with a 12 second car gets on my case says I don't know what im talking about when I build seven second cars every day and drive a 8 second pump gas car I get irked.

Guess I should just look the other way but hey im opinionated sue me.

Anyone who knows me or has met me will say that me and murillo motorsports will go out of our way to help anyone who needs it.

try a google search for murillo motorsports i doubt you will find a single negative post by anyone who has been a actual customer anywhere.

and ya the tech pissed me of when he tells me to my face thats normal .. when it plainly isn't no one on this board would say it is or accept from a dealership that it is.

oh and i added pics of both cars to my garage.

I agree with cleveland (like always).. I bought the 1999 gt when that new model came out and I knew there were going to be issues. I bought the 05 and knew there were going to be issues on that too. But being the first to have the awsome stang was worth the extra time and pain at the shops. Any, new car design will have issues for the first- second year. Its a givin.. some will have issues and some will not. The only issues I had was the gas tank.. everything else was from me making the car go faster :nice:

I find that hard to believe.

What's so hard to believe? This and a few other forums are filled with people complaining about their 05's.

1. Transmission
2. Gas tank
3. Rattles galore
4. Popping noise from strut bearings
5. CD Player skips like crazy
6. Dead battery after 10 days of sitting
7. Windows fouling up
8. Rear axle whine
9. Noisy right right front suspension when going over bumps
10. Paint looks crappy/orange peel in certain areas

Just to name 10...

Ohh I guess these things are "normal" right? Pahlease...if they'd fix them under warranty I wouldn't be as mad but they keep telling me it's normal.
I'm no whiner either...I own 2 Foxbody's too.

Yeah maybe the chasis is wonderful but the build quality stinks in these cars...my '96, turd that it was, did not have a single rattle, vibration, clunk or noise in the 86K miles until I traded it. Hell the only thing I ever had to do bring it in for the cracking intake problem and it still had the original battery in it (don't ask me how it lasted but it did)

Maybe I got lucky but my car has never been back to the dealer. I regularly drag race my car too. The only problems I have had is popping noise(which was kinda anoying) but that went away when I lowered it. Fuel nozel shutting off when i have an empty tank and try to fill( learned to live with it,doesn't happen all the time and when it does i just flip the nozzle). Dash rattle when its really cold out (40* or less) and that goes away as soon as the heater is pumpin warm. I have 9500 miles on the car. The trans is a little noisey but works flawlessly, tremecs will always be noisy, notchy transmissions, they always have been they always will be. If these are the only problems I have with the type of abuse I put to it,I'm fine with that. Seems funny everybody has problems according to you,yet every person I know that has an 05 beats it and has no problems. I think with the high demand of this car and the rush to get them to the lots, there is a good chance of some lemons getting out there. Maybe you guys got a bad apple. I know a guy with a 350z(japanese quality) and his harmonic balancer fell off and it destroyed the crank bearings. If you really break it down all cars have there bad seeds.

I wouldn't say your were lucky, it sounds like you have the same isses many other people have as well. You just choose to deal with it.

Just me? :rlaugh: Have you not read any other thread here or on any other site? Dude, there's pages and pages of issues from lots of people other than me.

Again, my issue is Ford wont fix anything, they all seem to have def technicians when it comes to warranty work. Not to mention my 96 was built 100x better, even if it was a turd with an outdated chasis. I'm not comparing Japanese cars to Fords, I'm comparing Ford to FORD.

that 96 of yours was built from late 70's tech originally. With about 20 years of development under its belt, it shouldnt have the same issues that the 05+ has had.

Your experience, not taken from the actual whole of owners, has proven that the 96 model was built better than the 05. In reality, facts have shown that the 05 is the best built Mustang yet, it has some technical issues and will be sorted very quickly. Ford doesnt even make all the components that go into the car so how can all the blame be put on them. At least they are covering the issues, which are few.

Of course the service departments throughout the US arent as helpfull as others. It leaves Ford the blame when a dealership employee is an asshat. DONT BLAME FORD, BLAME THE DEALERSHIP!

Side note: murillo motorsports has a lot of negative opinions against it since you starting posting on the boards.

You need to find another service department. Most the things you have wrong are already covered by TSB's. I garuntee any major problems with these cars are minimal. When people run into problems these days they run and post i on the net,and a couple people will agree and have the same problem. The fact is these people are a small percentage compared to the people that don't have any major problems. If you are really unhappy with the car sell it. The GTO's seem to be good quality, maybe thats a better route for you. Or maybe get one of those better quality sn95 stangs :rlaugh:

Hey 1fastZ

Not that I'm doubting you or anything but if your 05/06 is a daily driven 8 second car, how come no pics of the engine?

And to GeeTee

For the record regarding the quality of the S197. You're never going to read a post about
"Oh, I was driving along I5 today listening to my radio and I noticed It didn't skip"
or
"today I took my car in to the dealer to let him know that.......Hey, my dash has no rattles and believe it or not my struts weren't popping either".

This a new platform for the Mustang and likewise their will be issues to work out, this is expected no matter what make/model of a new gen car/truck, but it dosen't mean the car is garbage. I can see how people would think that, reading through all the threads but ya got to keep in mind that for all the negative posts you read there are probably hundreds of satisfied stangers out their that have no quarels what so ever with the new stang and therefore have no reason to post negatively about it.
