Hey Everyone,

I have an 03 GT with 16k and the warranty is up in Oct. The tranny seems to have the early stages of the 1-2 clunk/grind and Id like to get the TSB done. Are dealers happy to do this or are they likely to hassle and say they dont see the symptoms?

Thanks
Andy

I have an 05 GT with the 3650. I had on a rare occasion, the 1-2 grind and a little more frequently, couldn't find 3rd gear. One dealership here told me it is normal and part of the break-in period. The other dealership here is replacing the transmission, no questions asked.

Why would your warrenty expire in October? I have an '03 w/14k miles but I thought it would not be up until '06=3yrs/36,000 miles.

How long was did it take for the dealer to order the parts, then for the car to be in the shop? As for the warranty, mine was originally purchased in Oct of '02.

My warranty expires on April '06. I am at 24K miles.

I am gonna wait til fall before bringing my car in on the 3650. It's summer now and it's actually shifting great despite today it seemed to tighten up or bind a little on the 1-2 shift. I'm hoping it's a fluke.

I hate this damn 3650.

No hassle from the dealer but it took almost 2 weeks. Part of that was dealer also replacing some steering parts under the TSB. They got the tranny put together but the tranny wouldn't shift into 5th gear. They tore it down again and found a broken OSS ring. All is good now. We'll see how it act during winter. The dealer also rented me a car for those 2 weeks. Pearl02.

My car has been in since Monday 6/27 morning.
The dealer called me again and told me that they were almost finished. They would have been finished today but someone took/lost a tool they need to finish building the box.
They didn't give me any hassle about doing the TSB once they felt dioagnosed the issue. It took them 1 day to get all the parts.
Hopefully find out if it works tomorrow...

I did have some hassle before I got a dealer to do the TSB for me.

1st dealer replied that they could not duplicate. I told them that they need to drive it in the morning when it has been cold outside. I left the car with them for 2 days and then I called to inquire about it and they told me that had not had time to check it out. I went there and picked it up immediately and had a nice little chat with the manager.

2nd dealership reported the same, can not duplicate. I left the car with them and went there myself in the morning. I took the tranny guy out for a spin and shoved him the problem. 1-2 grind and popping out of third (if you dump the clutch at 4k rpm). It took them 2 days to have it fixed.
