Very cool Manson, I was a drummer for about 7 years or so and the last band I was in didnt work out so I ended up selling my dream kit for about half of what my car cost me. Every once in awhile i think about picking up just a Pearl export or something to screw around with, doesnt help that my good
'ol Ahead sticks are at the end of my bed everyday....

There's a big part of me that wants to get a guitar again, but I know I'd be in trouble if I did. I can't just do something half-assed, I'd have to practice my chops non-stop so I could shred like a maniac, I'd have to write, I'd have to start a band (it doesn't help that a friend of mine is looking for a guitarist to start something up with), and so on.

The ONLY reason I will pick up a guitar again anytime soon is if All That Remains drops one of their guitarists and calls me up. They're local buddies and I was on deck for tryouts a year ago but the lead man didn't end up leaving as planned. It's better off, I couldn't fill his shoes anyway. I'd love to be 2nd rhythm though, but there's no real need for it.

edit: I see you're from CT. Cool. You have any idea about a band called "Pile"? I saw them as local support for BLS when they played a few years ago, and they were great. Never heard/saw/found anything about them ever since!

What? You mean there's actually LYRICS in death metal?!? I always thought the words went something like this...

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/2006/06/growl.html

Oh, btw, did someone mention Slayer? ...

http://www.rathergood.com/work/buffy/

Or, at some point, Rammstein? ...

Joel Veitch is my hero.

Hartford at the Webster. Checking my ticket stub, it was in '02. I'm sure they're gone now but still I couldn't find anything even back then.

Opeth's good stuff. Unconventional chord transitions give them a pretty unique sound. I like their slow stuff a lot more than the growly/screamy stuff, though.

Opeth is amazing. I've yet to see a single band that can compete with their style. The music is dark and gloomy, yet so beautiful. Mikael's voice is amazing as well. He has a great soft voice and a low, deep, clean growl as well.

I'd love to see them live.

I don't really like death metal, I like afew of slipknots songs, but they aren't even hardcore ones... I like Before I Forget.
But other than the few CDs of new rock I stick with country

Well, Slipknot definitely isn't death metal.

I almost forgot about them! Was it called P.K. Ripper? I had a few of their songs but they were hard to find. They were like thrash metal and rocked hard!!

Darkwriter - Those vids are freakin hilarious!!

EDIT: Damn that's driving me nuts! I can't find PK RIPPER any where. They must have disappeared. If anybody can find me some PK Ripper info I'll do an illustration of your car!

They almost put me to sleep at Sounds of the Underground last year. No joke The only other bands to have that distinction are Deftones (Ozzfest 99) and I think Mudvayne (Ozzfest 05).
