I am at an empass with what I am going to do with the exhaust of my Cobra. As of right now she is completely stock. I like hearing the blower when I get on her. But my old GT had an extreamly mean and deep note to it. She had a nice gurgle at idle and at WOT just screamed. I had LT's, a catless x-pipe and two chamber flos. I really liked how loud and deep she sounded. Now I am debating with how I want to tackle the sound of the Cobra.

I am surprised I like the sound of the Cobra as she is, but I would like alittle more agrrssive sound as well as ofcourse the power you gain with a less restrictive set-up. You know the basics.

Anyway it is nice not having to worry about getting on her when a cop is near and having her heard for miles around. But I miss the sound too. I loved that in my GT it sounded like the world is coming to an end. I just dunno if I am getting old and like the blower whine over the exhaust growl or am just not used to the Cobra yet since she spent most of her life with me in the shop.

I dunno, I was looking at both catted and o/r mid-pipes as well as the gamit of mufflers...

I had a MAC O/R H pipe and cat-back...I got tons of compliments on it....now I have BBK L/T's with a BBK O/R X-pipe with the MAC cat back....sounds super good to me.

Magnaflow sounds great and my friend with a Mach has Bassani Mids with X pipe and bassani cat back...that sounds great as well....you will still hear your blower :)

Here's my Cobra on the dyno.

Stock H-pipe and Borla Stinger Cat-back. I have the K&N FIPK and I can hear the blower just fine over the exhaust.

duner dyno - 8mb

I like the Stingers. The have a deep rumble and sound good at the high end. I have some buddies with the full on Bassani setup with the offroad x-pipe. The setup is extreamly loud.

'03 Cobra offroad MAC x-pipe and MAC catback.
SB dyno - 9mb

what was causing that cobra to smoke while on the dyno is it the o/r xpipe?

03 cobra with bbk hi flow x pipe and 2 chamber flowmaster catback sounds amazing...nothing but compliments and blower sound is still very present and more than overcomes the exhaust (this is with densecharger CAI)...

I didn't want a loud obnoxious setup, so I have a magnaflow catted X pipe with a FR500 catback. I like the combo. Little louder than stock at idle, opens up at WOT. I think the FR500 & the steeda catbacks are among the quietest one out there.
