My 71 Mach1 originally had a 302 2V. It now has a 351 4V and I am just trying to find out what ever I can about it.
I found this stamped number which I believe is the block number D7TE-AA with a 6 stamped under it.
Can anyone decode for me? I have did some Google searches but looking for others information.

D7TE-AA

D=1970s
7=1977
T= truck line
E=part number released for engine division

AA= Change level of part, Number of casting changes from original. A-Z =26 so 26 +1 = AA or about 27 changes since this part was conceived

The 6 underneath I have no clue.
Lot of errors (wrong or missing) in casting numbers so take it with a grain of salt

Good luck and post a pic of your 71 I want to see her.

With all the hoses and belts, AC compressor I couldn't get a good look to see the difference in the pictures sent of 302 and 351. I did attach a picture of raised brand under my air cleaner.
