Engine Deleting Egr Valve On 5.0

It's 3/4 NPT. I got mine from Lowes. I deleted my EGR because I went to a Fox TB setup and didn't want to fool with it. Before my tune, I'd get a WOT CEL because the plunger was being held open with a block off plate I had sandwitched between the EGR and intake. Got my tune and it went away.

Oh, and for you guys getting rid of your EGR system, DO NOT CUT THE TUBE! Those are worth money! They're super hard to find and very expensive at the dealer!

Actually that's not the right thread for the cap. It's metric. You CAN however put the cap you mention on the header. That's what I ended up doing after I messed up my homemade cap with a bit cresent wrench.

When you put the Lowe's cap on it, you are cutting new threads in the brass cap. Mine still sealed up that way. But you do risk messing up your header threads if you ever decide to put the EGR back on.

i didnt cut mine, it snapped....Also i used a penny inside of the old nut and tightened it down and it sealed up perfect. And now i get to see lincon's head every time i pop my hood (i'll post pics later)

that was the first thing i did too. i got tired of retightening the bolt and changing the penny once a week.

i also cracked the weld on motor side of that bung trying to get that nut loose. oops, i need new headers anyways as you can tell.

once the copper is seated, it shouldn't come loose, maybe a retighten is necessary, but the cap from Lowes worked out great for me!

i'd buy one but i honestly spent my last 2 bucks on the gasket for that block off plate...i need a job

Ok the reason why I asked is because I'm getting a lack of power during acceleration I replaced the bad plugs wires look perfect.. Cleaned the mass air flow sensor,and aftermarket air filter.

Oh I almost forgot the fuel filter is new .
