I am having a problem with my 95 gt detonating when I get on it real hard above 3grand. It doesn't do it unless it's at WOT and it gets above 3grand. I have dialed the time back to the stock 10 degrees and give it a good diet of 93 octane, and it still does it. Any ideas on anything else that can cause it. Here is the small list of mods: Cold air kit, O/R x-pipe, U/D pulleys, all smog and egr removed thats it. No check engine lights or anything. Thanks in advance for any help.

Try cleaning your MAF sensor wire. That has cured a lot of detonation problems. Expecially if you have a KN (or oiled air filter).
Be careful cleaning it & don't break the wires inside of the meter.

using better gas helped me, i use 93 octane now after using 87 before, as soon as i switched it stopped, i dont know if 89 or 91 would have stopped the problem, but i went from paying 17 bucks to fill my tank on 87 to 21 bucks to fill it on 93, not to bad, its only 4 dollars. if 93 doesnt help you then i have no clue, here is a website someone posted before about it:http://www.misterfixit.com/deton.htm

I dont think cheap gas is our problem... That wouldnt be a problem, that would be stupidity. I used to be able to run nitrous at 10 degrees. NOw i can't even run on motor at 10 without detonation. I only run 93 in it.

Port and Polish the heads. if you get the chambers really nice, you won't have detonation, y ou can run more advance, and you can run more boost. just getting rid of the little bumps from casting and whatever in the chamber will help a LOT!

Try replacing your O2's or you ECT sensor. I put in my new ECT last week and it cured my missing and detonation problem. I have new O2's that I have yet to install.

Check your sensors as mentioned above but also make sure that when you put the ACT sensor (goes in the cold air intake) that you installed it at the correct rotation. It needs to get maximum airflow so the actual plastic part at the tip of it must be facing the flow of air and not blocked by the metal part of the sensor. I hope this helps.
