I have about 500 miles on my locker and gears. Two times it has made a really loud bang noise, once driving straight and once when I put it into gear. This bang noise is much louder than the normal click it makes around turns but feels the same as when it unlocks. Also it sounds like it unlocks sometimes right when I push the brakes, is any of this normal?

Yup.
Everynow and then you'll find that it didn't quite engage fully...
Causing the loud pop. I remember the first time it happened to me!
Though I had dropped a drive shaft.
