Diagnose Fuel Pump 1986 LK Mustang 3.8

There is a nylon plastic strap like a Ty-wrap that goes diagonally over the top of the computer to hold it in place. Remove one screw in the lower corner and you can get the computer out. There is a 10 MM bolt that you loosen to disconnect the wiring connector.

Jrichker, I got through all that an got it out just fine. The bracket was broken and the computer loose when I pulled the kick panel. As I am doing my best to restore this car, I am trying to figure out how to get the old braket out and the new braket in. I am sure it is not good for the computer just to be loose in the space. Any instructions on how to swap the bracket out?

If your car is like my car, just remove the screw from the other corner of the nylon Ty-wrap strap.

The saga continues. I ordered the ECC but the one I was sent was not the correct part. I need to find the Federal Emmisions ID number. It is not on the ECC I pulled. The part supplier gave me a list of Emmision ID numbers it could be. They are formated like this: #E73F-PA. I have looked at all the stickers on the car and can find nothing that says Fedral Emmision ID number of is in this format. Where do I find it?

I dident read all the posts so this might have been covered. Fuse links can blow and not show on the outside. I had my main fuselink wire break on the outside of the link, which cut the power to the computer. I also have had a pin in the tank plug pull out just enough so that if i hit a bump it would the fuel pump would cut off. I must have had the tank out 3 times before I caught it, it was driving me crazy.
