I bought a 2005 v6 in '09. It has decals that say "Pony" but I'm reasonably sure that it is not a pony package. It has dual exhaust with low back-pressure flowmasters. The car is very quick and runs really strong. I'm thinking about installing a performance chip and cold air induction and I want to know if there is a sure and easy way to make sure that the ECU has not been modified already, or does it matter?

There are no performance chips for these cars. You need to get a hand held tuner CAI package. Check Americanmuscle.com and the most popular are the Steeda and JLT CAI. Also if you buy the combo you get free Bama tuning with it. Your stock tune will be saved to the device then you can load your custom tune from Bama.

Thanks. I'll check out Americanmuscle but, I also want to know if it has already been tuned.

Probally not. If you did not get a hand held tuner with the car when you bought it then i would say no. You have to return the car back to stock to unlock the tuner or it wont work with another car.
