Did I blow out my od?

I was on the freeway and I decided to get on it. I put the car into drive from od waited for the shift then got on it, let of the gas then clicked back into od, i did this twice, I know it's not good to slam it when in od. Anyway, I got off the freeway, turned around and got back on. When I clicked into od the trany did nothing, I kept trying and nothing happend no od!!! Help!!

I don't know but i to stuff to my aode like that all the time. I better start being easier on it if I expect it to last. However, the sooner my tranny goes, the sooner I'm swapping it out for a T-5. :nice:

BTW what part of CA are u from?

If by "doing nothing" you mean that it stays in 3rd gear and just won't shift into OD, then it's most likely a hung or sticking valve in the VB, and will prob. fix itself realtively easy and very soon just through normal driving. Mine used to do this on occasion.
If, by "doing nothing", you mean reviing as if you had ut the car in Neutral, then I would say YES, you blew the OD. What's the condition of the fluid? Brown? Smell burnt? Fluid level full?
Any mods to the AOD? Last fluid and filter change?

then I'm goin w/ sticking valves or inadequate line pressure (i.e. worn VB). Like I said, this type of thing can fix itself if you drive it normally (don't try to fix it w/ WOT blasts). You might need to get the VB looked at for worn or sticking valves...

it wouldn't necessarily need a rebuild.
How long has this been happening? How many times?
If it doesn't fix itself, I would have a tranny shop pull the VB to see if they can identify any sticking valves or leaking accumulators. Also, have you checked the TV cable adjustment and linkage at the Tranny itself?

JAymac your a pimp, i just got back from a drive and my od is back  like it never even happened. If it is a vb prblem I'd like to replace it with a Lentech anyway. I have a new engine and would like to "beef" my tranny up, to avoid future mis-haps. What suggestions do you have that would give me added strenth for everyday use, not track use or anything. Thanks again for your diagnosis

No problem. :nice:
As far as recommendations, it really depends on how much $$ you want to spend. If it's no object, then get a Lentech Street Cruiser or Terminator. Terminator you can shift manually, Cruiser you cannot. hey're expensive, and their converters are very expensive too.
When looking at coverters, I would DEFINITELY keep lock-up if you're keeping it a streeter.
Or you could do something more like what I did. Andre at Edge explained to me how by putting the pieces together myself, I coild pretty uchh get a Lentech-caliber AOD for almost half the price, so that's what I did.
See my sig, but you;ll definitely want a higher stall torque converter, high-performance rebuild kit, shift kit ( or you could go w/ a Lentech Street Terminator VB -alot more $$, I think $765, but you can delete OD if you want and have a "true" manual shift pattern.)
Ultimately, it ocmes down to how much of an issue $$ is, and how hard you really drive your car, IMO.
Either way, I'd call Andre @ www.edgeracingconverters.com, he'll point you in the right direction.

One word of caution, w/ a shift kit, find a reputable shop that everyone trusts, cuz you can get another ticking valve problem all over agin in that VB....

Oh yeah, one more thing:
