Did I damage my fuel injectors (with pics)

Tore apart some of my engine today to get my lower intake off to send for porting. When pulling the fuel injectors out, the tops pulled out of the metal connecting rods that run on top of them. Did I do any damage to them? I cant seem to get them back into the metal connecting rod.

By the way, since I'm down here, should I put in bigger fuel injectors?

do you mean the fuel rails? if so they will go back in insert them in the lower intake,then you will have to line all 8 of them up then press down on them while you put in your 4 screws that hold them down!

You'll need to get new o'rings and get the old ones out of the fuel rails. The top and bottom use the same o'rings.

you need to get a manual before you do any damage..you need torque specs and some rese0arch befor you go taking things apart IMO. No you don't need to upgrade your injectors..you asked that question already and the answer doesn't change just because the option is there.

Dman, I already started taking things apart (obviously), so I'm forging ahead.

MY first project in school was to fully disassemble a functioning motro/trans. Then rebuild them, and have them functional for 1 minute.

We had no manuals, jsut notes that we had from class.

I learned a lot a bout things on that first project.

Experimentation is a great way to learn.

Thanks Vristang, I feel the same way. I could spend years perusing these forums, reading magazines, etc; but until you get your hands dirty, you aren't going to learn much.
