Did I get taken on some shocks? Fitment Question.

Hey guys. I had someone on this forum sell me a set of Bilstein 04 Cobra rear shocks for $60. They look relatively un-abused. I was told when I purchased them that they were completely compatible with my 04 GT. Now, when I look around in the classifieds, I see people specifically listing "IRS" and "NON-IRS" Bilstein shocks. Am I going to have a problem if I put these things on my car? Are they valved and built differently for an IRS car? Or is this an OK swap and I can install? I know I probably should have looked into this a little more beforehand, but I was a little impulsive, and now don't want to risk issues with the car by installing an improper shock. Thanks guys.

If you don't mind my asking, how could you use them on an '00 GT? That's the same as my car's suspension. I'm guessing you have a Cobra too? Tell ya what, How much are the SS brake lines going for? Are they for an 04 GT?

EBAY - yeah, I sold...
Used (steel, not aluminum) Steeda LCAs with (fully disclosed) bad bushings for $100+.
Used front disc brake calipers from my 02 GT for $100+.
2 used C&L MAFs for at least $60 each.

I'm always surprised how much I get for stuff I sell on Ebay...

Well like I mentioned in the PM's, I'm almost positive that I said they were from an 03 Cobra. Yes they are different part numbers and yes they will work. No offense to anyone who has replied, because I've read all your responses for years and your smart guys, but asking people who have not used these shocks if they will work will get you a response of no they don't. I use them, my friend uses them, and when I inquired about this, before I bought them on ModularDepot, I was told yes they do work. Again like I mentioned in the PM's, I've had different shocks before and I feel these are about the best I've run. I know what I can get for them on Ebay, and like I mentioned in the PM's, I like to help out fellow Stangnetters with a deal if I can. I bought them for 90, you said you couldn't do 90 so I did 60 and lost $. So if you don't want them you can ship them back to me and I'll give you your money back, like I mentioned in the PM's. Sorry if I sound cranky, I just woke up. I realize you weren't flaming me and didn't mention my name. So thank you for that. But I thought this was all discussed before the transaction, but like I said before, many people have contacted me about these and I don't remember exact discussions between everyone. So I guess your options are 1) run 'em and see what you think. I like them and I'm assuming you will too. 2) sent them back to me and I'll give you your $ back. 3) Sell them on Ebay for a profit or to the other dude that inquired about them in this thread. I just want you to know that I don't try to screw anybody (insert joke here). I'm a budget racer, so to speak, and I'm always looking for a good deal, which I feel these shocks are. If there was a mixup in communication I apologize. Let me know what you plan on doing and how it turns out.
Thanks,
Steve
Sorry for the long response. Easter candy buzz.

Sold to the inquiring member, no hard feelings man, this stuff happens. I wasn't implying you willfully screwed me, more that I stepped on my own pud by not doing my homework. My choice of words may have not reflected that, and it's why I kept you anonymous.

It's all good man. I just wanted you to know that I wasn't trying to screw you over, but actually help a brotha out. So sorry on my part for the lack of or miscommunication. :nice: Glad it all worked out.
