My car is making a "tick tick tick", so during investigation of the header bolts I noticed that two of my plug wires were not slipped all the way onto the plugs. By the way they were on there, it would seem they wouldn't fire. But the car felt like it had plenty of power and was running good. I've been driving it hard and racing with it like that and I wondered if it hurt anything. I'm not sure how long its been that way either.

Dont worry about it. Its never really a good thing persay, however even if you were running on 6 cylinders, its not going to destroy your motor or anything.

I didn't think so, but when it comes to my baby, I get paranoid.

You should pull those plugs and see what they look like. They might have gotten a lot of build up on them. Clean them and put them back in.

The noise was most likely the spark jumping the gap between the plug and wire. The noise did go away though? If not, then you have a more serious problem here with your valve train.

Yes, it quit, but I also tightened a couple of header bolts, so I'm sure if it was the bolts being loose or the spark jumping that was making the noise.

Spark plugs will fire if the plug wires are not touching as long as the electricity can bridge the gap. If the spark is jumping twice(wire to plug and on plug), there will be greatly reduced spark power.

Your noise was most likely an exhaust leak, if it was otherwise running good. You would have noticed 2 cylinders not firing. You might want to check your exhaust manifold gasket and add some Stage 8 locking header bolts.
