well I washed my engine with a spray hose a couple of weeks back, now the engine is kinda surging when I let on and off the gas, I thought it would go away after a while. I saw a post were someone was having the same problems and someone asked if they washed their engine. Did I screw something up?

Sounds like you did. I would try to pull the covers off the electrical boxes in the engine bay and spray a touch of moisture dryer on anything electrical. You really need to look around the engine compartment there are several wire harnesses where the top of the harness can be unscrewed, I would spray a touch of the stuff in there also. Next time when you clean the engine do it with the engine running.....
