Did I screw up my motor?

So, a couple of months back I has a vibration on my 94, the first day I felt it, I check out everything that might have something to do with it, only to find out the next day that my balancer was almost in 2 pieces. I probably drove 30-40, if not more miles before I realized it (Thanks to you guys:SNSign: ).

So my problem now is, I still get a vibration around 1k, I tried a couple of balancers and both did the same thing, even tried it on my friend's car. Could I have possibly messed up my crank, or something? Everything else seem to be in proper working order. If I did so damage my motor, how long do I have before in takes a dump on me? Thanks for any help guys!

You probably had this 1,000 rpm rough performance all along, but didn't realize it because the balancer issue covered it up. I wouldn't worry about it, and I would treat it like another issue as some have suggested. :nice:

I wouldnt worry about it too much. Mine broke apart and stayed apart for a while maybe 1k miles and a lot of wide open throttle blasts. Shook the car like hell. I figured it was the motor running rough since i just bought it. Finally figured it out, replaced it and am now 17k miles later motor is still fine at 169k miles

Like the others have said, unless youre seriously abusing it (doesnt sound like it) then chances are its some other small issue. Im a Ford tech and I know mines been on its way out and I still drove it off and on for the last 3 months. Just got a balancer from a 92 5.0 to throw on.
