Did you have this problem with your upper control arms?

Bought UPR double adjustable upper control arms but i cant get them to fit between the sheet metal of the torque box. Do i need to hammer the box out a bit to get them in there?

Anyone else have trouble wedging their aftermarket control arms back in ?

It looks like the aluminum spaces are too wide..

well it only goes in one way..you might try tapping it in with a hammer, remember the HEIM joint goes towards the front, if that doesn;t work i would grind a little off one of the spacers and test fit..or beat the boxes with a hammer, they will pull back into place when you tighten the bolt

Im pretty sure i got the orientation right, but i just wanted to know if it was normal to have to beat on the boxes a bit to get them to fit

my double adjustable granatelli UCA's actually were loose in the torque box..so i had to crank that bolt really tight to get it pinched in there with no play. I wouldent worry about it, do whatever it takes to get em in there

I had to beat my upper torque box mounts out a little to fit my uppers in. It is no big deal, because when you slip the arm and busing in, you put the bolt in, and when you zip it with the impact the bolt draws the mounts back in....just like you never beat them out.

I just moved to Lancaster, CA

SVT32VDOHC:
Cool deal. I had heard alot about torque boxes ripping and such so i didnt know if it was a no no to weaken them by beating them out. I actually regret spending the extra money for the UPR upper and lower reinforcements. I will probably just have mine existing boxes welded up. (hope i can do that with the arms in!)
