Was at the track last night, another racer was saying the same thing about his setup. He talked to Accufab and they said It could be caused by the 75mm throttle body. They told him a 70mm might be a better unit for low end response. His car had similar mods to yours

if the runners are short, you'll gain hp (high end power) and loose low end due to a reductin in the ram charging phenomenon. longer runners create more momentum of air, and hence, more torque (low end).

I think they just meant the Plenum.

I feel low end loss in the 1500-2000 range. Feels much better 2800+. Try putting the stock t-body back to restore the low end. It worked for me, but I ended using the 70mm in the end. 4.10's cured the low end issues.

>I feel low end loss in the 1500-2000 range.<

That statement is kinda suspicious...
at those RPMs, the predominant factor in engine performance is the timing of the closing
of the intake valve.

I'm with JonJon - especially with 4.10s, how would you notice? The 75mm TB reportedly mirrors the stock RWHP up until 3K+, while the 70mm has minimal gains throughout the range, but honestly, I don't see how this would be noticable.

Nowhere in the dyno sheet was there a loss in HP or TQ when going from stock to 70mm OR 75mm TB.

Loss of bottom end.

I had a non SVT Contour years ago and put on a SVT Throttle Body on it. it was much bigger than the standard V6 one. I lost bottom too. I did feel a slight increase at 4000+. I thought i wasted my money then (250.00.). I think you lose velocity of the air so it does not react as fast. Kinda the same thing that cutting post out of the Mass Air sensor does.

only gains here. Also 70mm, but as Matt said, neither of his tests showed any losses 70 vs 75mm.

Ok bud.. your welcome to your own opinions. I'm very particular about torque. I couldn't prove the loss on the dyno since we started at 2500, but in my case it is noticeable. The car just doesn't get up and go way down low as easy as it did stock. I posted about it right when I first slapped the plenum on. Obviously I am not the only one who felt the loss.

I personally can't tell anything in that range. Hopefully you don't spend very much time there so you won't feel that your investment is a total loss.

1500-2000 rpm is just a by product of getting to the upper rpm range where you make the meat and potatoes of your power.

I felt like I lost low end when I put my o/r x pipe on then gained it back
when I did the TB.
Before the x-pipe I could be in 2nd and mash the gas and break the tires
loose then after I couldn't.
But my car did have a catted x on it to begin with.
Either way it wasnt enough to worry about it.

For the guys that think when they added a mod and lost power. You changed the overall hp and tq curve of your car so it may Feel like you're not going faster but in essence you are. If you had your car dynoed you'll see higher hp and tq numbers. Nothing to worry about.

True. I don't spend much time down that low, but I did notice. I swapped t-body's back and forth (65&70) after the plenum install to see what REALLY pulled better. The 70mm seemed like a better all around champion.
