Diff. between cobra and mark viii motor

Hey just wondering what the differences are from the 96-98 cobra motor and the licoln mark viii motor

Can a 93 lincoln mark viii motor be dropped right into a 97 mustang? Do you have to change the intake at all or will it work? Is there anything else we would need to do? please help.

I think the only difference are the cams and intake. I don't know about the blocks. The Lincoln block might be iron. Don't know about that one. The horsepower ratings are different too. 285 hp for the Lincoln and 305 for the Cobra.

the lincoln block is Teksid just like the 96-98 cobra blocks. i believe it had a cast crank, never taken one apart. the block is a 6 bolt mail just like the cobras. the heads are the same and they have IMRC like the cobras. the difference is in the intake cams, around .010" less lift. also the intake manifold is different, and not something you would want in a mustang.
