Anybody heard in person the difference? I love the sound of the original 40 series and the delta flow 40 is average. The flowmaster web site places them inbetween them two on the aggressive chart. They kind of lead me to believe they sound like the original 40 outside the car and quieter like the delta flow inside. Is there any truth to this?

I have them on my car. You are right, from the outside they sound pretty damn close to the original 40, but interior noise is dramatically reduced. With the windows up you can barely hear the exhaust with the radio set to normal level.
Outside the car is different and when i go pick up my friends i usually find them outside waiting for me because they "heard me coming a couple blocks away"

They are a hybrid of originals and deltas. They have a bigger case design than the originals but sound about the same outside.
