Hey everyone,
Other than the headlight/grille setup, can anyone tell me the other differences in the Front End Body between a 1969 Mustang and a 1970 Mustang? Im looking more of the measurements as in the overall front end width, fender height, and fender length. If anyone can help me, that would be great! Also, If i wanted to change the headlight style, would a 1969 Headlamp bucket bolt on to the fenders of the 1970? (by the way, on the 70, what is that corner piece next to the headlamp called?)Thanks!
Danny

The bodies are essentially the same, with only some cosmetic differences. The front fenders are the same and they are the same distance apart. Hood and trunk lids are the same. The rear fenders are the same (except some have that fake scoop on them).

I asked this question a while ago, I'm trying to find the thread but am not having luck. I think the conclusion was that it isn't a bolt-up proposition. I think the radiator support is different, doesn't have room for the 69 light buckets or something, and the way a couple of things bolt up is a little different.

69 front fenders have no front marker in the front fender- 70's do. I also believe there is a slight difference where they attach to the rad support. I have two service replacement fenders on my mach, and neither front fender to rad support bracket will reach the rad support. It's like a 5/8 inch spacer is needed to fit between the fender bracket and the rad support to fill the gap. I presume this was done to fit the 70 models as well, but I may be wrong.

don't forget the 1969's have marker lights in the gravel pan as well. Only directly interchangeable parts are the hoods and bumpers.

Also, suspensions are different as well! (different diameter rod ends, wheel bearings, etc. )

Wow was I wrong!

It's amazing how many little differences there are, when they look so similar.
