Difference in stock cams??

I have an extra engine out of an '89 GT, so it was of course mass air. My car is an '87 and I am still running speed density. I am just wondering if the cam from the mass air motor will still work fine with my SD system? I have heard the SD cams were a bit more agressive than the stock mass air cams and I have heard they are the same. Which is true?

I am just checking the compatibility of my spare parts.

Thanks grover. Not being very educated on cams I can of course see they are different. But does that mean the sd is a bit more agressive? And will the '89 cam still work ok on the SD? Apreciate the chart Grover just saved it on my hard drive, but can you explain the difference in the cams to me as if I were a two year old? LOL

well here what i know and i hope i can help . sd cars can use maf cams but without a maf conversion they wont run right .
When your looking for a cam for a sd car your verry limted there are not to many made . other will chime in im shure but if you wanna runa maf cam out of a 89 up you must have a maf sytem

Why in the world would you swap a 89 stock cam in? Not following you on this one. If it was me, if I rip it down to put a cam in, you can bet your @$$ it won't be a whimpy one.

Not planning to swap the '89 cam into my engine. I have the whole complete running '89 engine I picked up as a spare. I am just trying to figure out if I was to drop it in a run it with my SD if it would be ok.

The speed density wouldnt notice that small of a change Im sure. Otherwise it wouldnt run worth a d@mn with 1.7 rockers on the stock cam and they run fine.

The stock mustang cam specs are close but one I do know for sure is the 90-93 lca "lobe seperation" is definately wrong.

Actually you don't know what you've got in a stock cam unless you degree it. EDC has stated that they vary in duration in about a 204-212° window. Mine fell just outside that on the intake side - 219I/212.5E @ 112.5° lobe centers.
