Differences between front and rear O2's?

Are there any?????
Is it just the harness length?????

Is the rear sensor a bit longer or shorter????

Rears are about $30 cheaper....

We only have 2 o2's in our cars. All parts stores list 4 for some reason. You want the ones before the cats, since thats what we have. They didnt start putting 4 02's in until 96.

yup we only have front 02's....the 96+ cars have 4....2 before the cats, and 2 after....damn the government and OBD II!

well... thats pretty cool.

Guess I'll go lie and say that one wasnt long enough and look at the rear one and see if they are the same.

The rear O2 Sensors only monitor the efficiency of the catalytic converts (96-up mustangs). I imagine they are very different than the front O2's. I guess you could try them, and see what happens?

I would bet you get a CEL though. www.oxygensensors.com is about the cheapest place I can think of. Unless then sell them brand new on ebay

Hell they look the same to me.

Just like on the Trans Am... it appears the post and pre cat sensors are the same. I had them out at the same time... one was just $27 less.

So I exchanged them.

We'll see tomorrow after I swap them in the morning if I get any codes. I dont imagine I will.

The back two are MIL sensors on the 96 and up cars OBD 2 system
