Hey there-

I just found an '88 Lincoln MkVII LSC at a friend's house sitting in the back with a busted rear end. It has a 5.0HO, 5 lugs, and 4-wheel disc brakes. My question is this - What brake/wheel parts can I swap onto my '88 GT? Are those bolt patterns the same as later 5 lug setups or will I not be able to use 5L Cobra R rims? Any info at all on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance~

Well, it's not really a different 5L question. It's the same one really.

Yes, you can use the stuff, BUT it's not all plug and play.

First off up front, you can swap the rotors and the calipers over. The rotors are identical to stock mustang rotors except they have a 5th lug. Stock offset is retained up front and you get the larger 73mm calipers. BUT, not all wheels will mount to this setup. '95 Cobra R's will work but any wheel 98-newere (including the 96-98 GT 17") will not fit.

Out back, you can swap the brake parts over to your rear end to get rear 11.35" disks, but the rear is 1.25" WIDER each side. That's 3" total. You can do this and just compensate for the offset with deeper wheels or you can modify the offset using ranger axles and flipping the mounting brackets.

for the MC you will need an SVO MC.

This swap has been covered a lot really. Do a search for SVO disk or Lincoln rear disk or something like that
