I was trying to put my limited slip diff in tonight, but I can't get the old one out. I have the axles out, the drive shaft disconnected and the nuts off the face and the thing won't budge. I'm sure that it is rusted on to the housing, like everything else on the car. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Kent

Try jacking up the pumpkin. The gasket and/or RTV that is on there holds the pumpkin to the housing very well. I used small screwdrivers, then larger ones to start prying them apart (mine wasn't in the car though). It was a PITA.

Or you you could take a hammer and hit all the studs in. Then use a punch to make sure they go all the way through. But then you're housing is toast. Good way to get them out at the junk yard though. I use SandtSprite's method on my own cars.

thanks for the info. I kinda need to reuse the housing. Im going to sears and get a chisel or two that will separate the housing. BTW, is the Versaille swap on the front or back of your car?

Actually its a full Monarch swap front and back but its the same rear end with disc brakes and 9in. Even came with a posi right out of the junk yard.
