You know i took my intake stuff off up to the TB today and looked inside...That thing is got a hell of a lot of build up inside of it..How bad is that for my car and how it performs?

It is mostly a dirty mess. Oil will cause detonation if severe.

It sounds like you have some blowby. A catchcan or air/oil separator might help out. Andy had a real good thread (3 pages) very recently.

Good luck.

if buildup is too bad it can cause the throttle blade to not seat fully causing an extra unmetered idle bleed. this is usually not to common on cable actuated t/b's, but wreaks havoc on throttle by wire systems.

every car I buy, I clean the back side of a TB. It makes it run massively better! I cleaned the blade and tubes, idle whole, etc. It makes serious improvement. I won't tell you what chemical to use to clean it because I will get yelled at, but don't use carb cleaner.........and a soft nylon tooth brush.

Also, if the PCV valve, screen, etc is clogged, then the crankcase tries to utilize the oil filler-to-inlet hose as a means to vent vapors. This results in a quickly dirty (oil filled) TB.
