SHM service is the worst!

Their kit includes 2 LEFT PI heads, no valve cover gaskets and an alternator bracket that does not fit.
They can't tell me what year the PI heads are either.
I hate buying things i can't use.

All this despite CHRIS promissing that everything i would need is in the box.

Get your swap kit anywhere but SHM. This is so fustrating.
In exchange for $2K, i got crapped on and a pile of headaches.
Thought i'd save you some money by posting my experience.

i'm not going to bother, the car is nearly done, calling them or Chris only makes me mad.

"Can i get your number so i can call you back on this" <- which is always 10 days later.

Heads up to the guys who work hard for their money.

What ever happened to SHM? At one point, they were the premier mod motor go to guys. Today, they've been reduced to crap. I've been hearing so many bads things about the place lately, I won't spend anymore of my money there.

If you spent 2K there, send it back for a refund. Don't take no for a answer.

If he does, then he's a Dream Customer for any sham company running around out there... and there are plenty of those in the automotive world.

I'd be more than a little p|ssed and go after them, myself.

All heads are made of the same casting so there is no real left or riight head. But i know what you mean i bought the head swap kit from them and they promised i had all i needed to bolt it right up, wrong! I had to purchase other items to get the job done. Not saying that thier products are bad, just their sales reps.

Ya you can just swap the cams and plugs around the other way to make the head work on the left or right side, but that's still a pain in the a**
I got mine from Parkway Ford and was very impressed with them.

Yeah, $1320 shipped included everything. $2,000 better be P&P or different cams??? Hey Cobra and Canada, what plugs did Parkway send us with the kit? I had someone else do the work and I'm too stupid to remember what they are. I think they were Motorcrafts. I see all this stuff about coppers being horrible. Just wanna make sure I got the right stuff in there. Thanks!

I ordered mine through SHM and it cost under 1300 even when i had to buy new vavle cover gaskets. I have noticed that some of their prices are expensive, but on the other hand some are cheaper. Like i said before their products are as good as anyones its their representatives that suck a$$!

Yeah they were Motorcrafts, platinum ones I believe. I ended up not being able to use them because they weren't threaded all the way up to the tapered seat on the plug and it was causing them to sit up in the head too far. It was causing a really bad miss and an extremely lean a/f ratio. The guy switched them to some NGK TR-6's and it fixed it completely. I know the TR-6's are too cold of a heat range plug for my combo, but thats all he had at the time.
