I have a '94 5.0 that I converted to a carburated setup so I can put it into my '66 Stang. I don't have the computer or wiring anymore, so I need a different distributor.
I bought a reman '85 dizzy, had a '78 dizzy and compared them to my '94. The '94 had a shaft that had an additional 3/8" of shaft after the gear. That is, the '94 shaft extended 1 1/2" beyond the gear, while the '85 & '78 went 1 1/8" (approx) beyond the gear.
Everyone I talk to says that the dizzys are the same for all 302s. This includes Summit, MSD, and oreilly"s. So...why is my '94 shaft longer? Has anyone ran the shorter dizzy shaft in a '94? I wouldn't be so concerned if the engine weren't at stake! Oil pressure is usually nice. Any help is appreciated! I want this thing running!
