i am im the middle of a carb swap when i realize the distributor i have, an msd-8582
http://store.summitracing.com/partd...908331+4294881256+4294840126+115&autoview=sku
has one seemingly importand difference from my stock dizzy. the part below the gear that drives the oil pump driveshaft is considerably shorter than my stock dizzy. you can notice it in the picture of the 8582 (link above) and the replacement efi dizzy 8456 here: http://store.summitracing.com/partd...908331+4294881256+4294840126+115&autoview=sku
you can even notice it in the 8598 vs the 8455. my concern is if it will reach down far enough to fully engage the driveshaft? anyone had this issue before? i cant remove the part from the stock because it is all attached as one. im left at a standstill until i can figure this out. oh and i already checked jason fletshers site and did as he said with the 85 v8 mt carb dizzy and its the same length as the msd. any help is apprecieated
