it idles kinda low tho..

It won't run at 10 degrees? When you checked timing, you did pull the spout connector when you measured 23 deg.. right? If you leave the spout connector plugged in while checking timing, the Pcm will push timing all over the place. At times it will read as high as 23 deg advanced. If this is with the spout unplugged, I'm willing to bet TDC wasn't set properly or the dist shaft is off by one tooth at the cam. 23 is way too high for base timing. What is the lowest timing you were able to get it to run at? I've had it set as low as 0 deg. You know when the timing is retarded that much because you can really hear the valves clicking away through the exhaust pipes. It sounds good... it just wont go anywhere fast.
Also make sure you have the timing light inductor clamped to the number one cylinder wire. And lastly, make sure you installed the wires in the correct locations. You would be suprised that it can run with a couple of the wires swapped... and that'll also throw your timing off.

i dont know bout the condition of the balancer. the tfi module is almost touching the thermostat housing so i cant advance it anymore then that.ill prolly have to reinstall it thats with the spout out 23 degrees and timing light wire on number 1 it idles about 700 i cant retard it anymore or it dies what sux is i paid the guy 315 dollars for a used dist and labor 4 month 4 000 mile warranty
