Started out cleaning them with a sanding disk/wheel, then laquer thinner.
Then sprayed the silver base, then clear coat.. Waited a few hours, then masked off the silver section, and then primered the main caliper

Next, I sprayed the main caliper with a red base (dupli color spray bomb)

Then pulled the masking tape off the silver caliper piece, then cleared the whole caliper assymbly with PPG high solids clear (nice shi*) And cleaned the brake disk up while i was at it, with a brush and some grey, and silver paint..

Looks Great as is the norm for your car. I'm not sure what to do about my calipers. I don't want to take away from the Cobra originality by painting the front ones but I may do my rears in a graphite color in an attempt to match the fronts.

Very nice.Do you think I should keep mine black of paint them silver on a black car? Cant notice the black but I want to make them stand out. Oh and I have nothing that would match red calipers

im not worried too much about keeping them clean.. Im probably not going to drive the car everyday anymore.. just weekends and shows. It was getting too dirty and the aluminum just doesnt take well to the elements.

Its all getting torn back down for a fresh paint job and clean up, all around..Gona pull the motor to inspect, and add a cam. Should be back on the road in a few months, and better then ever

BTW, on any other colored car, ide just paint em black, grey or silver..

Three year old thread man. I don't think anyone's going to be posting in it much anymore...

I got excited for a moment though. I thought Oink was back again for a bit, and that 1105 had returned. Then, I discovered the date

I ran into 1105 on a motorcycle forum a while back. Same story as a lot of guys; he lost interest in the car. Oink's busy with his work, and RC hasn't been around much since his back surgery, but he still checks in from time to time.
