I need some help in trying to figure out how to run the pipe for the intercooler. I was wondering if anyone that has done a DIY intercooler could post pictures of there install so I could get some ideas. Thanks of the help!

Thanks for the help nice write up. What did you with mini bypass valve in to the power pipe? Any back wash issues? I am doing the same set up!

i ran that setup with the mini race for about 6 months. i did have to move the recirculating pipe closer to the blower to prevent backwash. i am now running a Tial BOV and a blow thru MAF so i can vent to the atmosphere

Thanks guys for the help. So far I have the Blower (V-2 SQ W/ 3.25" pulley) mounted and the belt on. I reclocked the blower down on a 45 degree angle. I am waiting on the intercooler from MPH and some more 3" pipe. I just hope that I will be able to drive it to my tuner. I have no tune right know for the supercharger. I have also add 42lb injectors and a lightening MAF. I have about a 35 min. drive to my tuner Johnny Lightening Performance. Has any one else had this problem before? Were you able to drive it? Thanks for the help!

you will need a base tune to get you to the shop. it will be WAY too rich and wont run right (if all) without a base tune.

Meh as long as he stays out of boost he can limp it there. Might foul the plugs from the rich AFR but rich is better than lean.

Here is my set up. I used a piece of angled iron to bolt up the IC. I just bolted the angled piece to my radiator support bracket. Way less work compared to cutting the metal bumper. The IC gets plenty of air as well. It was 100^ + out side and I logged 90^ IAT.

i dont think it will even limp in. the 42's are twice the size of the stockers and the MAF is different also. it will be dumping 2X the amount of fuel the car needs. if you do decide to drive it make sure to change the oil to get all the gas out of it before you drive it!!!!

You should be able to make it to the tuner. I just went through the same thing about two weeks ago. I put on a lightning maf and injectors and a blower and had just an NA tune. It wont run well enough at all stock, so hopefully you have a tuner Xcal of some kind that way you can atleast lean it out all the way. It was running horrible and the gas smell burns your eyes. If you stay out of the throttle and drive in lower gears to keep the revs higher you shoudl be ok. I would occasionally rev the car up to clean the plugs. I made it though and put down 407rwhp running out of fuel at 4700. lol

if you do drive it without a tune, you will need new plugs before any dyno time

has anyone checked this out?Intercooled Lower Manifold/Adapter for use with Turbo/Centrifugal Setups - IC Turbo Manifold I think i will be using this tork tech intercooler on my future build. Iam just wundering how much air it will flow and if it will become a huge restriction like the vortech intercoolers.

air to air works fine and is cheap. mine is keeping 18-20 PSI at 10-20 degrees over ambient temps
