Do convertible mounts lower the engine? If so, how much?

Hey guys,

I need some confirmation from those of you running LT's in your convertibles...Curently I have BBK 1 5/8 equal lenght shorties but would like to swithc to LT's to gain some more HP out of the setup...I heard that the convertible engine sits lower than the rest due to the engine mounts...if that is true will running LT's have a problem with clearance issues? the car is not lowered...

never heard such an idea... then the shifter would be off... not to mention the crossmember would have to be different as well. you can get some solid motor mounts custom made for cheap and lower it that way...

Before installing my convertable motor mounts in my Hatch LX i put them side by side and measured them. They were exactely the same size with a lot less rubber.
(I used stock FORD convertable mounts)
