Im doing a Fox TB conversion and am going to buy new headers for my 331, can i buy 87-93 headers so i dont have the EGR bung?? Are they the same?? will they fit right??? any issues with mid-pipe fitment?? Or should i just buy new 94-95 headers and cap off the EGR (Not as clean looking)???

Supposed to be able to run Fox headers. I bought a set, but haven't put them on yet because I want to clean up the GT40's that are going on as well first.

If you ever need the bung but have Fox headers ... it won't be good

I'd buy the correct headers myself

Shorty headers from our SN95's are the same as fox headers, but the long tubes are very different. If you use fox long tubes, you have to use a fox tranny and bellhousing along with a fox mid pipe.

I ended up getting BBK longtubes, The guy at bbk said that the 94-95 have a different geometry for the longtubes, so i just bought the correct ones and will put a penny on the bung

I tried MAC and BBK 1 3/4" long tubes and both would come too close to the bellhousing so that I had to get a fox body bellhousing which narrows down closer to the engine and a fox transmission due to the different length input shaft. After that, the mid pipe was off by about an inch and a half so I had it rewelded. You must have been very lucky somehow.
