I just bought 4.10's and a 23 teeth speedo gear. Do I need to buy the Dallas Mustang speed cal in order for my automatic to work properly? thanks
Yes and No. You will need it in about 6 - 12 months after the little plastic gear gets shredded. If I were you, I would do it right the first time and go with the SpeedCal.

so let's say I tear this tooth up alright. would i have to put back my old speedo and then buy that dallas mustang speed cal? or what do i have to buy? thanks for the info
The gear will tear up, where do you think all those little pieces go? Save yourelf the headache, don't touch the factory set-up and install the SpeedCal. With the gear, it's not as accurate as the SpeedCal either.

As for putting the stock piece back in when the other gear fails, yes, you will have too put the stock one back in.

Whats your stock gear ratio? Im wanting to order the speedcal myself but I had a 3.08 gear and I dont remember the color and tooth count of my stock speedo gear. Anybody know what speedo gear came with a 3.08 gear?

how do i get my eec "reflashed." by chance does it mean disconnect the battery for 15mins?
Nope, you pull your cars computer out and ship it on over to Tim and he does the reflash for you. I have not had it done, but it's my understanding that you send it to him with a list of your mods and a dyno sheet with your a/f if you have it.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong because I'm really not 100% sure.

Correct. Also tell Tim if you want your rear O2 cat sensors turned off. Tim is able to provide a very fast turn-around. The price is less than a chip and dyno tune and will adapt to new mods later.

so all in all will the dallas mustang speed cal work?? it's cost is $90 +sh.
custom chip of somekind with my mods $300 = or -

what are my other options? It seems to me that i should just get the speed cal. it's less expensive and it will work. i've heard from people with the same year of car with me that that have major problems with tuners and chips cause of the changing of the gears.

If you have the dough get the programmer. If not, do like I did and get a speedcal. Up to you.
