I'm installing the tri ax shifter today along with the FRPP 3.73. The question is , do i need a Tune for the 3.73 gears??? I know the milage will increase with the new gears. But other then that is there a problem, do i "HAVE" to get a tune???
I have a 2004 (Manual) GT
Thanks

No you don't have to get a tune, but your speedo will be out.

Just get a Dallas Mustang Speed cal. And why would your mileage be higher? Actually, on my 04, mine is a little lower than it should be

with my 4.10s i had to get the shift points changed because it would hit the rev limiter and not shift until i let off.. dunno if that would be a problem for you though ...

Not on a manual, you just shift when you have to shift

Not trying to be rude here, but I just told you. On a manual transmission, you need a Speed cal. Dallas Mustang is the best place to get one. Automatics need a program

Not trying to be rude here either, but you don't NEED a Speed Cal. Lost of guys do it with a hand held programmer and in turn are also able to reap the benefits of then having the ability to make timing and fuel changes to their computers programming, as well as alter and firm up shift points (for the automatic guys).

Yes, he asked if he NEEDS a tune and no he doesn't NEED a tune. A hand held is like a tune. A speed cal is the cheapest way out and it does it's purpose. A programmer is another $300 or so dollars for a diablo
