Do oxygen sensors work with out cats?

Hey guys just wondering if the oxygen sensors will work properly without the catalytic converters in place.

Will the get up to operating temperature?

I haven't had cats for years. I believe my O2 sensors work fine.

The O2's have nothing to do with the cats. The HEGO's simply need to get up to around 600*F to light-off and that's it (they do this with exhaust heat and a heater circuit). They don't even know if you have cats (the cats are downstream).
