It's a 98 GT 5 speed that I bought with Maximum Motorspots Heavy Duty Lower Control Arms already installed. After a year of hard launches the poly bushing on the chassis end of the LCA shred. When I spoke to Maximum and ordered replacement poly bushings he said it would happen again and suggested i go with their Extreme Duty LCA's because they have the non-poly bushings at both ends. Well he was right...at about the year mark the replacement set of poly bushings shred also.

I asked on another forum if my only option was to go with LCA's that had spherical bushings at both ends. I got a couple replies that said I should just replace the poly with spherical bushings instead of completely new control arms. Well I spent quite a bit of time googling to find replacement spherical lower control arm bushings and cannot find a source…nor could the posters that suggested it point me to a source...do they exist? If so, can someone please tell me where I can find them!

Are you needing spherical rod ends, or just the bearing part?

I think upr has them for the upper control arms, not sure about finding them for the lowers.

Bearing...i want to replace the poly bearing that's on the chasiss end of my LCA with a spherical bearing.

Ive seen the spherical UPPER control arm bearings (Steeda markets some also) but never seen any for lowers...so when a couple of people suggested them it got my hopes up.

Yeah when i bought replacment poly bushngs from them last time i asked if i could buy the bushings they use in the Extreme Duty arms and he said no...something to the effect of...they wont fit in my Heavy Duty arms.

Do you think i would notice any difference in going from their HD to their XD arms? Oh well i'll prolly go the XD route instead of changing out the polys every year.

I just got sick and tired of blowing poly bushings out, so I went XD and never have to think about it. I honestly couldn't tell a bit of difference in road noise, but I have an exhaust anyhow. It does get just a tiny but stiffer, but performance is what your after. If your already lowered you won't notice.

Yea I was, but in MM's defence, the arms I were using before were not theirs. They were another brand that just could have been straight crap. I even bought a tube of the synthetic grease from MM to make sure I had plenty for the chassis end and for future use. I am just lazy and really don't feel like changing bushings out every year.

MM stuff is garbage.

Buy HPM Mega-Bite Jr's or just regular Mega Bite UCA & LCA's. They are the best, HD control arms out there. A few friends are running 9's with those control arms.

I've never heard ANYONE say what you just said. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I've gotta ask what brings you to this conclusion that "MM stuff is garbage"?

What brings me to that conclusion is that this is the 3rd story I have read this season about stangnetters needing replacement bushings for MM LCA's.

I'm also a member on a local car club board which is huge....and I've read a couple of stories over there about guys who have had bad luck with MM stuff.

Why would I say otherwise about their products?

My Mega Bites have been great for the 6 or 7 years they've been on my Cobra.

The Pro-Form (off-brand) UCA & LCA's for $179 were great on my 91 notch that I sold recently also.

Why pay a premium for MM stuff when it's breaking?
