I'm swapping out my fuel tank because it had a lot of rust in it and was wondering do the fuel lines rust also? I have sprayed brake cleaner in teh line and blew it out with an air compressor. There is some really ugly stuff coming out. I wonder if it is from the really nasty tank or them. Whats the odds I get the lines to clean good?

The fuel line is steel so they will rust as well. If your tank rusted out I would also replace the fuel line........ its like the pay me now or pay me later kind of thing. You can replace them easily with pre-bent steel or pre-bent stainless steel.

Replace the entire line, you'll regret it if you don't. You can buy aluminum line too, either aluminum or stainless are better than the factory material (assuming you're keeping the car for another 20+ years).

Buy some straight line preflaired with fittings plus a springwrap bender and make them yourself. The tank end is just clamped with flexable line anyway, so you'll probably only need two moderate lengths and a male to male connector. Shouldn't cost more than $25-$35, tops.
