Do U4P0 cars have 3.27 gears?

Some of the transmission scalars of the U4P0 are scaled by 3.27/2.73 when compared to the W4H0, which has 2.73 gears. This also implies that the U4P0 has 3.27 gears as stated by Mustangless.

As I recall, the 3.27's were simply an option for any AODE 94-95 (as they were for Fox III AOD's).
Eddie once posted his window sticker showing them as like a 50 dollar option IIRC.

Mine (W4) came with 2.73's per the door and pumpkin tags.

Sorry but could someone tell me what a U4P0 car is? My cars is a 95gts with aode and I beleiev from my rear end tag it has 3.27...but didnt all aode cars have 3.27 rears?

It's the PCM (computer) identifier. U4P0 94-95 5.0L GT Auto. T4M0 94-95 5.0L GT Vert 5-spd. W4H0 94-95 5.0L GT. J4J1 94-95 5.0L SVTCobra. ZA0 95 Cobra R.
The 3.27 was a performance option on the AOD-E GT.

Just in case it wasn't super clear in Toyman's post (I'm not reading too well tonight), the W4 puter was the other AODE puter.

Juggalo, as always, be sure to physically check your gear if contemplating a switch. We don't get new pumpkin or door tags with gear sets.

I can say I got a 95 GT with t-5 trans and it has a t4m0 pcm
and
I've talked to other 94-95 GT t-5 Stang owners with the same pcm

I've seen it said Vert's with t-5's had the same pcm as well

I'd go along with the W & U pcm's being for autos
and
The J & Z pcm's being for Cobra's

O Yea ... PCM = Powertrain Control Module :D

Now ... why and what is the difference between the two auto pcm's

I got no clue
as
All my experience has been focused on t4m0 & j4j1 :)

Below is not a complete list, but a fairly complex one. BinaryEditor does not have nearly all the transmission scalars that the latest CBAZA definition from Mike Glover has, but this will give you an idea.

Like 95BlackTan50 said, the changes are made because the differences in gearing although they don't seem to be exactly the ratio of 2.73/3.27 but you get the idea of what they are trying to accomplish.

Differences in W4H0 (Auto/2.73) & U4P0 (Auto/3.27) in Binary Editor CBAZA v20:
